Does any of this sound familiar?

  • There’s that job you’ve been meaning to do for weeks. You know it probably won’t even take that long, but somehow you just keep putting it off.
  • You really do want to exercise more, get out for that walk, or do some of the things you know make you feel better.
  • There are projects you’ve started but never quite seem to finish.
  • And then there are the things that are just for you - the hobbies, interests, and little pockets of me-time that somehow keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list.
  • Meanwhile, there’s work, family, life admin, and all the other stuff that needs your attention.

Sometimes there’s just too much lifeing going on, and all those unfinished things don’t disappear. They sit there in the back of your mind, taking up space because you still haven’t done them.

Sometimes you just need a little accountability, support, and a bit of encouragement to do the goshblasted thing!

I know how much difference a little accountability can make

I have ADHD, and I know only too well what it’s like to have something that needs doing - sometimes something that would probably only take 5 minutes - and still put it off and put it off.

I’m also very good at getting excited about a project, doing almost all of it… and then losing interest when it’s 95% finished.

One thing I’ve discovered that really helps me is accountability.

A friend and I wanted to get more consistent about walking, so we started keeping each other accountable. We’d go for our walk and send each other a photo on our daily walks - like this selfie.

And it works! We're both so much more consistent with walking and exercising, and it's done wonders for our mental and physical health.

"I have found daily check-ins helped me retain consistency and focus, push through the days of low motivation, and feel like I am sharing something, so that when I am out walking I somehow don’t feel like I am doing it alone!"

- Nic, my walking accountability buddy

That last bit really sums up what I love about accountability.

You’re still the one doing the thing. But somehow, it feels better because you're not doing it alone.

I have another friend who, like me, has ADHD, and at the beginning of each week we tell each other what we’re going to get done, and at the end of the week we check back in.

It’s incredibly simple.

But knowing you’ve said you’re going to do something can give you that little extra nudge to actually do the thing.

I’d been wondering for a while how I could bring that same kind of friendly accountability to more women.

And that’s why I created Cornelia’s Accountability Club.

You don’t need to have ADHD to join. You just need to have some things you’d like to get done - and recognise that sometimes it’s easier to follow through with a little accountability.

How Cornelia’s Accountability Club works

There’s a simple rhythm of accountability throughout your week.

✅ Monday: What would you like to move forward this week?

Tell us what you’d like to get done or make some progress on. Big, tiny, important, boring, fun - you decide.

✅ Tuesday: Opportunity to do the thing together

In our weekly Get It Done sessions, on Tuesdays at 12 noon NZ time. Perfect if you'd like some company or body doubling.

✅ Wednesday: A friendly little nudge

Because sometimes Monday’s good intentions have been completely derailed by Wednesday.

There’s no telling off and no accountability police. Just a bit of encouragement to get back to the thing - or make it smaller if life has got in the way.

✅ Friday: What did you get done?

Stop for a moment and notice what you actually accomplished or moved forward.

And if absolutely nothing went according to plan, because sometimes there’s just too much lifeing? Then next week is a fresh week.

🤓 Get It Done Tuesdays

Every Tuesday at 12 noon NZ time, there’s a 60-minute online Get It Done Session where we actually get on and do the goshblasted things. There’s no teaching, coaching, hot seats or awkward going-around-the-room introductions.

You simply turn up with something you’d like to get done, and we work alongside each other for the hour. Kinda like body doubling, but it's up to you whether you have your camera on or off.

You might tackle some life admin, work on a project, sort through paperwork, make appointments, paint, plan your garden or deal with that bloody tax return.

I’ll be getting something done alongside you too. And at the end, we’ll take a moment to notice what we managed to accomplish.

Same time each week. Just turn up with your thing and get on with it.

Sessions run on Zoom most Tuesdays, with dates posted in advance. I do occasionally take holidays, get sick, or have a life, so there’ll be the odd Tuesday when we don’t meet.

👩‍👩‍👧‍👧 And you’ll have the private Facebook Group in between

You don’t have to wait until Friday to tell us you finally did the goshblasted thing. If you’re about to tackle something you’ve been avoiding, tell us. If you’ve finally gone for the walk, show us. If you need a little “keep going”, pop into the group and ask for some encouragement.

And when you do the thing? Come back and tell us - or show us! Give someone else a heart or a “Yay, go you!” while you’re there.

Sometimes just knowing there are other women out there who know what you’re trying to do makes it easier to keep going.

The Club gives you a friendly place to say “This is what I’m going to do” - and somewhere to come back and say “I bloody did it!”

You’re doing your thing. They’re doing theirs. But you’re not doing it entirely on your own.

So what can you actually use the Accountability Club for?

You can use the club for pretty much anything that matters to you.

It might be something you need to do:

  • Review the tax return that’s been sitting in your inbox for three weeks.
  • Make the appointment you keep meaning to make.
  • Sort out the pile of paperwork on the kitchen bench.
  • Fold and put away the mountain of clean washing.
  • Send the email you’ve been avoiding.
  • Sort out a cupboard, drawer, or corner of the house that’s driving you nuts.
  • Move a work project forward instead of staring at it and finding 14 other things to do.

Or it might be something you want to do:

  • Go for that walk.
  • Do some gardening.
  • Get your paints out and actually paint.
  • Pick up the book you’ve been wanting to read.
  • Spend some time on the hobby that always seems to come last.
  • Work on the little business or creative project you keep saying you’d love to do.
  • Give yourself an hour to do something that makes you feel more like you again.

It doesn’t have to be impressive. It doesn’t have to be productive. And it definitely doesn’t have to be what somebody else thinks you should be doing.

You decide what matters.

Maybe you finish the thing. Maybe you simply move it forward.

Either way, it’s no longer sitting there taking up quite so much space in your head. 😊

Here are just a few of the things we've been getting done in the Club so far...

  • Baking a key lime pie for the first time

  • Walking every day

  • Creating social media content

  • Weeding the garden

  • Backing up a computer hard drive

  • Building a rooster house

  • Editing videos

  • Sowing plant seeds

  • Making the dental hygienist appointment

  • Installing a new printer

Just to be clear - this isn't coaching

I’m not here to tell you what you should be doing or teach you how to do it.

There’s no one-to-one coaching, training, Q&As or hot seats. And although I’ve talked about my own ADHD, this isn’t ADHD coaching either.

You bring the thing you want to do. I provide the space, structure, and friendly accountability to help you get on and do it.

Simple as that.

Because getting the thing done is the valuable bit

You’re not really joining for Facebook posts and Zoom sessions. You’re joining because there are things you want to do - things that would make your life easier, move your work forward, help you feel better, give you more time for yourself, or simply stop taking up so much space in your head.

What would it be worth to finally deal with some of those things you’ve been putting off? To make progress on the project that matters to you? To actually make time for the things you keep saying you want to do?

That’s what you’re investing in: a little structure and accountability to help you actually follow through.

And sometimes getting one pesky thing done that’s been hanging over you for months is worth the membership fee all by itself.

That’s the point.
